Pretty Boy Floyd Headline Rainbow 40th Anniversary Party

Los Angeles - Hollywood rock stalwart Pretty Boy Floyd will be headlining the 40th anniversary party of rock music’s most celebrated venue, the Rainbow Bar and Grill, on April 15th.

“To simply say that it’s an honor to have been selected to headline this gig would be an understatement,” say Pretty Boy Floyd guitarist Kristy Majors. “When I first came out here from New York City in the late 80s, the Rainbow was already the stuff of legends, the place where Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and the Who used to hang out. Everybody who’s anybody has been to the Rainbow. I can’t tell you what an honor it is to have been chosen to headline this event."

The Rainbow’s clientele is a veritable “Who’s Who” of rock music, including Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Who, Janis Joplin, Lemmy, Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, Poison, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and many, many more.

Other bands scheduled to perform: Hurricane, Cold Blue Rebels (featuring former members of the Zeroes and Jetboy), London and more.

The event is free to attend, and will take place in the Rainbow and their parking lot this Sunday from 5:00 pm til 2:00 am.

Pretty Boy Floyd was formed in Los Angeles in the late 80s. They have toured globally and released several albums, selling over a million copies internationally. The group is currently in the studio completing work on their new self-titled album, scheduled for a late Spring release.

RIP Jim Marshall

Guitar amp pioneer Jim Marshall has died, aged 88.

Fomer Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash tweeted: “The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER!”

RIP Jim, your legacy will remain!

Tigertailz part company with Kim Hooker

It has been announced today that Tigertailz have parted company with singer Kim Hooker.

A short statement reads as follows:
"Relieved to be honest.. We’re obviously disappointed that Kim’s gone but things have deteriorated to such a point that the band looked like it would never play or record again. So something had to give. And we’d just reached a point where we couldn’t agree on anything anymore – and one of the biggest issues being Sarah’s departure. Since then things have just gone from bad to worse and we’ve all had enough so time to move on."

U.D.O. are back in style with the REV-RAPTOR album.

This is U.D.O. making a return to form with a fantastic album. The legend that is former Accept singer Udo Dirkschneider's voice is an unmistakable as ever. It does, however, seem to have matured very well with him carrying the melodies very well and not being anywhere near as growly as he has in the past which really improves the quality of the songs.

There are times when this album reaches all the way back to the glory days of Accept and it is a most welcome trip down memory lane. You can never go wrong with good chant out choruses and singalong parts! REV-RAPTOR has some fantastic guitar work (courtesy of ex-Accept man Stefan Kaufmann and Igor Gianola) with some fast and frantic riffs while the bass (Fitty Wienhold) and drums (Francesco Jovino) have everything well and trully pinned down tight!

This is a good solid hard album with some metal overtones but not too much, there was even one song that reminded me of SPiT LiKE THiS, I think it was the rhythm of it, can't be a bad thing tough!

REV-RAPTOR is recommended on the strength of Rock 'N' Roll Soldiers alone, fantastic song supported by more great tunes!! If you had a soft spot for Accept back in the 80s then this album is a must for you!

Standout tracks:
Leatherhead
Dr. Death
Rock 'N' Roll Soldiers
Motor-Borg
Days Of Hope And Glory
